Car Prints

All our designs are printed on museum-grade 330gsm 100% cotton paper that is acid, lignin, and chlorine free that is guaranteed to last up to 100 years. Our designs are printed with the best UltraChrome HDX pigment inks available today using the latest 11 colour large format printers. The new Ultrachrome ink uses an aqueous (water-based) all pigment ink formulation, to produce prints with an unsurpassed colour gamut that dry quickly to become water and scratch resistance and better UV resistance for enhanced image stability. The new art prints feature incredible print quality and ultra-high resolution with superior half tones and optimised ink density. Design Methods

The artist usually uses a photo to digitally sketch (vector) the design on an on a drawing tablet which acts as a canvas board for the artist. The artist then uses a variety of programs to sketch the design digitally. Depending on the complexity of the drawing, Dion's automotive illustrations can take up to 100 hours to complete.

Dion's background as an Aircraft Structural Engineer and the ability to work with tolerances of only 1 thousandth of an inch has carried over onto his canvas board. All our art prints (excl canvas prints) come unframed as we found that most customers were wanting to purchase their frames to suit their home decor, thus minimising damage during transit. Our Canvas

The canvas material used for our prints is a blend of strong human-made fibres. They are guaranteed not to deteriorate-unlike cotton canvas material which can deteriorate over time. It is incredibly durable, does not sag in humid weather conditions and does not require re-stretching. All our canvas prints have UV block out properties, so they are resistant to the sun's UV rays.

Our Inks

We use the highest quality UV resistant archival inks. Their archival properties mean they can last up to 120 years before they begin to fade, so they will outlast the best of us!

Our Frames

Kiln dried timber is our preferred material for our canvas frames. Carefully constructed, they feature bevelled edges which prevent ghosting (ghosting is when you can see the frame faintly through the canvas).  The prints have big corner supports especially on larger frames, and strong industrial glue is also used as well as staples to secure the frame pieces together which means your canvas will be robust and durable.

Printing

We use the latest state-of-the-art wide format commercial printers to print all our canvas art. They produce high, sharp image quality accurate colours. Since the printing process is heat supported, it fixates the colours deeply into the canvas fibres producing a matte, clear image which is rich in colour.
