Released in 1981, the Ford XD ESP was available as an extra option on the Fairmont Ghia. You didn't need to be that perceptive to notice the XD Ghia ESP had particular eye-catching attributes. Features such as the colour keyed grille, clothed-faced Scheel front seats, sports instrumentation, red and orange pin striping and of course the Bathurst Globe wheels were all niceties which made the XD ESP a standout from the rest.
