Introduced in 1966, the Lamborghini Miura was the worlds first supercar. It featured a sleek design, and a powerful mid-engine mounted V12 which had a top speed of 280 km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Miura development team was lead by, 26-year-old Gian Paolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani, 27, and a New Zealand-born race mechanic turned development driver, Bob Wallace. The Italian design firm Bertone took control of the Miura design process with 25-year-old Marcello Gandini leading the charge. The Miura was probably best known for its appearance in the first 5 minutes of the 1969 classic movie, The Italian Job.
